Food that she cooks is a source of curiosity that grew out of stepping away from the suburbs of Long Island and into the rich and diverse culture and landscape of Los Angeles. Influenced by her Italian-American roots, Lofaso launched Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 that was highly acclaimed. Lofaso has been widely praised by her fans for her interpretation of traditional Italian culinary traditions. Its cuisine is consistent delicious, warm and inviting. Lofaso worked as an apprentice for chef masters who were absorbing their practices and taking chances. She was not afraid in doing so, merely following her gut instinct. She quickly rose through the ranks at Wolfgang Puck's Spago after which she went on to be a close collaborator with celebrities in various Los Angeles kitchens. Lofaso along with Sal Aurora partnered in 2011 to open Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City. Through Black Market and the business partnerships she formed Lofaso found her new home. Lofaso's creative freedom will be facilitated by this collaborative effort. Black Market does not have any one specific direction, which is the reason why it was created.
